Samys Mutzner was born in Bucharest, Rumanía, in 1869. He passed away in this same city, 1958. Studies in the Academy of Beautiful Arts of Bucharest and in Germany. Fugitive on World War I, he lived in Venezuela between 1916 and 1919, agreeing with another modern artist of great influence on the Venezuelan painting: Nicholas Ferdinandov. He worked in the Isla de Margarita and Caracas. In 1918, he exposed in the Venezuela Club, in Caracas, a series of 87 small works, which had enormous impact on the Caracas painters, specially on Federico Brandt and Armando Reverón.
