Anish Kapoor (* Bombay, 1954) is one of the most influential writers of his generation Hindus. Kapoor has lived and worked in London since the early 70s, when he moved to this city to study art, first at the Hornsey College of Art and later at the Chelsea School of Art Design.

Education
Hindu father and Jewish mother, Anish Kapoor had an Indian-Jewish education. Due to Islamic anti-Semitism, his mother's family emigrated from Baghdad to Pune when she was two months old. His maternal grandfather was the cantor in the synagogue in Pune. At that time, the Jewish community in Bombay was quite large, partly composed of Baghdadi Jews. His father, a Hindu family in Punjab, was a Navy hydrographer India He was educated in his early years in India in the "Doon School". Later he moved to Britain and attends the "Hornsey College of Art" and "Chelsea School of Art & Design" in the UK.

Performance
Kapoor quickly achieved fame since 1980. Since then it has gained international recognition, exhibiting widely throughout the world in places like the Tate Gallery and Hayward Gallery in London, Munich, Deutsche Guggenheim Berlin, the Reina Sofia in Madrid, MAK Vienna, ICA Boston and the Kunsthalle Basel.

Unique of its work exhibitions have been held at the Tate and Hayward Gallery in London, Kunsthalle Basel in Switzerland, Reina Sofia in Madrid, the CAC Malaga, the National Gallery in Ottawa, Musee des Arts contemporains (Grand-Hornu) in Belgium, the CAPC Museum of Contemporary Art in Bordeaux and the Banco do Brasil in Brazil Cultural Center. His works are exhibited worldwide, including: Museum of Modern Art in New York, Tate Modern in London, Prada Foundation in Milan, Guggenheim in Bilbao, De Pont Foundation in the Netherlands, and 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art Kanazawa, Japan.

Anish Kapoor has carried out a number of major facilities in macro scale and commissions, including "Marsia" Hall of the turbine, the engineer Cecil Balmond helped him set up, one at the Tate Modern in London, as well as famous sculptures as the "Cloud Gate" in Millennium Park in Chicago, and "the mirror of Heaven" at Rockefeller Center in New York. He was awarded a CBE in 2003.

Kapoor has placed works in the Lisson Gallery, 2 London; Gladstone Gallery, New York 3 and Continuous, 4 Gallery and the Galleria Massimo Manini, Italy.

In 2009, Anish Kapoor, Carsten Höller and Giuseppe Penone called for the creation of three permanent works in harmony with the light and colors on the site of the largest Pollino National Park Italy, located in the region of Basilicata, in the first edition of the project "ArtePollino-Another South" .5 Kapoor's work "Cinema di Terra" (Earth Film), in the area of thermal baths of Latronico, is a sculpture of 45 meters long, 3 deep and 7 wide, in a landscape of concrete and earth. People can enter from both sides and walk along it until you reach a small square from where you can see the view from the inside. Terra di Cinema officially opened in September 2009.
