Born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1944.

He created artworks with lightweight materials and boxes with air propellers, with which he managed to produce explosions of vertiginous elements. Salas made an environmental proposal to the Banap Gallery in 1972, which he named Mutant Floors (Pisos Mutantes) , and which consisted of an extension of small cubic mattresses with a ceiling of mirrors and a playful proposal.
